Description: This lamp is a rare surviving example of industrial design influenced by art nouveau. Peter Behrens, the famous designer and architect designed this lamp in 1907 for Siemens-Schuckert Werke/AEG, a predecessor of todays Siemens AG. The lamp is made from two glass halves, connected with a metal rim and handscrews, the object is connected to a handmade hanging fixture and cable protector made from sheet metal in ornamental shape.
This rare original lamp has a nostalgic, nonetheless timeless appeal and is a witness for the development of industrial design!
